Recap: Cowanesque Valley Indians vs. North Penn-Liberty Mountie

Even though the Cowanesque Valley Indians have not done well against the North Penn-Liberty Mountie recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Cowanesque Valley managed a 65-60 win over North Penn-Liberty. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Several Mountie players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Louis Mercantino, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Luke Kreger, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Speaking of assists, North Penn-Liberty were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Cowanesque Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for North Penn-Liberty, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
