Softball Recap: Mt. Vernon Falls Short Against Ranked Diamond

Mt. Vernon faced Diamond in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Mountaineers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 9-2. The loss continues a trend for the Mountaineers in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost seven in a row.

Mt. Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 28-11. As for Diamond, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 25-5.

As of now, neither Mt. Vernon nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
