Brazosport is 1-7 against Stafford since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Brazosport Exporters will head out to face off against the Stafford Spartans at 7:00 p.m.

Brazosport is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 17th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They took a 28-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Needville.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stafford). They were the clear victor by a 28-7 margin over Navasota on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Spartans with their most commanding win of the season.

Zachary Brown was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 63 yards and two touchdowns on only five passes. Those 69 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Ja'Yir Nelson was in the mix too, providing Stafford with two touchdowns.

Stafford didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Darius Sims and Brian O'Neal. Sims is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Another thorn in Navasota's side was Emmanuel Osom, who picked up two sacks and made six total tackles.

Stafford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 233 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Brazosport's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Stafford, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
