Basketball Recap: Sunray Takes a Loss

Sunray was the 60-49 winner over Sanford-Fritch when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sunray Bobcats took a 55-37 bruising from the Sanford-Fritch Eagles on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1039th, while the Eagles are ranked 460th).

Sunray has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Sanford-Fritch, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Spearman the next time they take the court. Sanford-Fritch will head out to face Spearman at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Sunray will host them at 6:15 p.m. on January 10th.
