Volleyball Recap: Liberty Ranch's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Liberty Ranch was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Bret Harte on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks lost 3-0 to the Laguna Creek Cardinals on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hawks have suffered since November 9, 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-13, 25-17.

Haley Smith paced Liberty Ranch's offense, picking up six kills. Smith got some help from Maritza Arevalo and her seven assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Liberty Ranch's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-6. As for Laguna Creek, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Liberty Ranch has already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Elk Grove on the 28th. As for Laguna Creek, they will challenge St. Mary's at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
