Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends East Rowan's Winning Streak

After a string of ten wins, East Rowan's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans by a score of 8-7. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 13-6.

Harrison Ailshie put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up a single earned run in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Krys Hernandez and Zeke Stewart stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hernandez went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run, while Stewart went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that Hernandez hit this season.

East Rowan's loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Northwest Cabarrus, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-12.

Coming up, it'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when East Rowan Mustangs face off against West Stanly Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Stanly will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something East Rowan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they will square off against South Rowan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
