Basketball Game Preview: Los Altos Conquerors vs. Temple City Rams

The Los Altos Conquerors and the Temple City Rams will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.

Los Altos is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Birmingham just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 69-52 bruising from the Patriots. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Conquerors came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Patriots are ranked 450th).

Temple City played in conference for the first time on Monday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They came out on top against Monrovia by a score of 59-52. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rams as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Temple City's win came from a few key players Los Altos will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Shawn Le, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Collins, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards.

Los Altos' loss dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Temple City, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.

Everything came up roses for Los Altos against Temple City in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 70-41 victory. Does Los Altos have another victory up their sleeve, or will Temple City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
