Mercy's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Gross Catholic Cougars a 5-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Mercy, who have now won nine games by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Gross Catholic with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Genevieve Hoge (2), Audrey Bush (2), and Marly Mills.

Mercy pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Gross Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
