Recap: Stockton Tigers vs. Norton Bluejays

The Stockton Tigers lost against the Norton Bluejays back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The New Year welcomed Stockton with a 75-14 whooping from Norton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Stockton has scored all season.

Eli Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Norton, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Jones' seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Vahling, who scored eight points.

Stockton bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.0 points per game. As for Norton, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stockton will take on Victoria at TBD on Tuesday. As for Norton, they will be playing at home against Oakley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
