Baseball Recap: Ludlowe Has No Trouble Against Stamford

Stamford typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Ludlowe proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Black Knights. Considering the Falcons have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Tyler Geriak tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

At the plate, Ian Moore and Eliot Kwan did most of the damage at the plate: Moore got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Kwan went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave Kwan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kieran Scruggs, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Ludlowe and bumps their season record up to 10-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Stamford, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6.

Looking ahead, Ludlowe will head out to square off against Wilton at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Stamford, they will take on Notre Dame Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
