Football Recap: Frenship Tigers vs. San Angelo Central Bobcats
Frenship suffered their biggest loss since August 28th on Thursday. They took a blow against the San Angelo Central Bobcats, falling 52-16. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.
Although Frenship took the loss, they still got scores from Quaid Ferris and Braiden Dunkerson.
Frenship didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jackson Thomas. Frenship got some further help from Noah Lopez: he made 14 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Angelo Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zeyvion Johnson, who rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Johnson is becoming a predictor of the Bobcats' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Colton Hill was another key player, picking up 99 receiving yards and three scores.
Frenship has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for San Angelo Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.
Coming up, Frenship will square off against Eastwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Chase Campbell and Kingston Jeffries. As for San Angelo Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 24-14 victory against Pebble Hills on the 13th.
