Basketball Recap: Chase County Takes a Loss

If Chase County was feeling good fresh off their 57-26 takedown of Mitchell last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chase County Longhorns took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ogallala Indians on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost four in a row.

Ogallala's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Laney Caskey, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Caskey has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last seven times she's played. Aniston O'Neil was another key player, going 5-for-12 en route to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Chase County's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Ogallala, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.

Chase County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ogallala, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-41 loss against Bridgeport on the 22nd.
