Baseball Recap: Paul Laurence Dunbar Comes Up Short

Paul Laurence Dunbar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hazard Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by just one run.

Tyler Baker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Jack Sheets also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Paul Laurence Dunbar's record now sits at 1-3. As for Hazard, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paul Laurence Dunbar will challenge Bryan Station at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hazard, they will square off against Estill County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
