Baseball Recap: Leigh Comes Up Short

Leigh blew Christopher out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Christopher got their revenge. The Longhorns fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Longhorns have suffered since May 24, 2024.

Lance Takamura was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Takamura wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Marcus Glanville, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Leigh moved to 19-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Christopher, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-10.
