Basketball Recap: Garces Memorial Takes a Loss

Garces Memorial lost against Bakersfield back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The matchup between the Garces Memorial Rams and the Bakersfield Drillers didn't end well, with the Garces Memorial Rams falling 66-47. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 702nd, while the Drillers are ranked 88th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bakersfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keshawn Black, who posted 13 points and five rebounds. Rashaan Shehee was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Garces Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Bakersfield, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

Garces Memorial won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Taft at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bakersfield will take on San Joaquin Memorial in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th.
