Game recap: Wheatland High School Football Team defeats Lindhurst

WHEATLAND, Calif. - the Pirates had a big 32-point first quarter on Saturday, sealing a 45-0 victory over Lindhurst (Olivehurst, Calif.).

Wheatland scored on a touchdown run, a passing touchdown, a touchdown pass by Jackson Hopking to Austin Cooper, a rushing touchdown and a defensive touchdown in the quarter.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, WHS led 39-0 at the half.

A 32-point first quarter set the table for the Pirates, who coasted the rest of the way for the victory.



Wheatland also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 27-14.

Wheatland (1-0) will play a non-conference game against Marysville next week, while Lindhurst (0-1) will take on Live Oak also in a non-conference game.
