Baseball Recap: Atkins Takes a Loss

Atkins fell victim to Rockingham County and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 9-0 to the Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 last Tuesday.

Atkins has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. The victory (which was Rockingham County's 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Atkins is set to take on their familiar foe Northeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Rockingham County will square off against rival Dudley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
