Basketball Recap: Encinal Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ygnacio Valley, Encinal was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Sonoma Valley Dragons by a score of 57-50. This was payback for the Jets, who suffered a 47-46 defeat the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Sonoma Valley lost, don't look at Hudson Giarritta. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Cooper, who earned 11 points.

Encinal's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for Sonoma Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Encinal is taking a road trip to challenge Concord at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sonoma Valley, they will take on Las Plumas in a tournament on Friday. Las Plumas is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season.
