Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Emily Conner and Erika Grinstead Lead Springfield to Victory + How To Watch

Springfield waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Liberty Leopards 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-14, 25-18.

Leading Springfield to victory were Erika Grinstead and Emily Conner. Grinstead had six aces, while Conner had five digs and three aces. Those six aces gave Grinstead a new career-high. Julia Vecchione also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Springfield was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. They are 5-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Springfield's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Liberty, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Looking ahead, Springfield is taking a road trip to challenge Brookfield at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Liberty, they will welcome Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
