Softball Recap: Mortimer Jordan Sets Scoring Season-High Against Corner

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mortimer Jordan). They blew past the Corner Yellow Jackets 21-3 on Thursday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Harper Pridmore, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Amber Williston was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

Mortimer Jordan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Corner only posted a batting average of .158.

The victory got Mortimer Jordan back to even at 5-5. As for Corner, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mortimer Jordan will square off against Springville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Corner, they will challenge Hayden at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
