Baseball Recap: Skyline Gets the Win

Skyline let ThunderRidge stack four runs on them in the second inning on Thursday but luckily Skyline prevailed anyway. The Coyotes had just enough and edged out the Grizzlies 7-6.

The team relied heavily on Evan Becket, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Dru Moore was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Skyline's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for ThunderRidge, they moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyline will welcome Ironwood Ridge at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for ThunderRidge, they will look to defend their home field on the 28th against Cherokee Trail at 11:00 a.m.
