Volleyball Recap: Ashland Comes Up Short

If Ashland was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of West Holmes on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Arrows came up short against the Dover Crimson Tornadoes on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crimson Tornadoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-16.

Katelyn Aber paced Ashland's offense, picking up ten kills. Aber got some help from Arienne Vaughn and her 23 assists. Vaughn was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Ashland moved to 11-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Dover, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashland will challenge St. Paul at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Dover, they will square off against Logan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
