Volleyball Recap: Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles vs. Washington Rams

Bourgade Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Washington Rams. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2015.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15, 22-25, 25-21.

Even though they lost, Bourgade Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2023.

Isabelle Hernandez was a one-man wrecking crew for Washington as she had 24 digs.

Bourgade Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Washington, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-8 record.

Bourgade Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against San Tan Foothills on the 7th. After both having extra time off, Washington and Independence will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on October 15th. Independence is coming into the match with three straight victories at home, so Washington will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
