Softball Recap: Christopher Wins Going Away Against Silver Creek

Christopher barely beat Silver Creek the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Raiders on Wednesday. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.

Melissa Lugo was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Chevelle Quistian, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

The win snapped Christopher's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-6 record. As for Silver Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Christopher will be playing in front of their home fans against Del Mar at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars are on a four-game streak of home losses, and the Dons a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck. As for Silver Creek, they will head out to challenge Santa Clara at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bruins will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
