Soccer Game Preview: Rocky River vs. Chagrin Falls

The Rocky River Pirates are taking a road trip to square off against the Chagrin Falls Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Rocky River will head out to face Chagrin Falls after giving up their first home loss of the season on Wednesday. The Pirates fell just short of North Olmsted by a score of 1-0. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Rocky River couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Chagrin Falls kept a clean sheet against Benedictine on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Bengals with a sharp 9-0 win. Considering Chagrin Falls have won ten matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Benedictine from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Greg Perry led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Chagrin Falls' victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Rocky River, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-1.

Everything went Rocky River's way against Chagrin Falls in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Rocky River made off with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
