Union City waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers get on the board and left with a 22-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-4 back in April.

The team relied heavily on Grace Chapman, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and six RBI. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Alivia Zielinski also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Union City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .696. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Union City pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Mercyhurst Prep, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Union City will welcome Cochranton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mercyhurst Prep, they will head out to take on North East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Grape Pickers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.06 runs per game on average), something the Lakers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
