Volleyball Game Preview: Sanger Indians vs. Van Alstyne Panthers

The Sanger Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Van Alstyne Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Friday, Sanger didn't have quite enough to beat Panther Creek and fell 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Sanger actually scored more points across those five sets (107-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 19-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Van Alstyne didn't have quite enough to beat Richland on Friday and fell 3-2.

Van Alstyne took Richland into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 25-27, 25-19, 15-13.

Van Alstyne's defeat dropped their record down to 23-11. As for Sanger, their loss dropped their record down to 21-15.

Sanger skirted past Van Alstyne 3-2 in their previous matchup back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
