Basketball Recap: Northeast Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Northeast and Oswego squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Northeast had to settle for second. They took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oswego Indians. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Oswego's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Jackson, who went 8-for-18 on his way to 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That's the most assists Jackson has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Demitri Williamson, who earned 14 points and three steals.

Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Oswego, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-5.

Northeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oswego, they will take on St. Mary's-Colgan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oswego is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.
