Baseball Recap: Lafayette Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Lafayette's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the West Point Green Wave 10-0. The Commodores haven't had any issues with the Green Wave recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Tanner Harris was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Theobald, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Lafayette always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Point only posted an OBP of .211.

Lafayette pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for West Point, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Lafayette will have a chance to go back-to-back against West Point: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
