Volleyball Recap: Saint Stephen's Episcopal Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Saint Stephen's Episcopal gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the St. Petersburg Catholic Barons with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Barons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16, 25-19.

Leading Saint Stephen's Episcopal to victory were Ava Varga and Sophia Ierulli. Varga had 14 digs and two assists, while Ierulli hit 62.5% for five kills and ten digs, three blocks, and two aces. That's the most assists Varga has posted since back in September of 2024.

They weren't the only good server: Saint Stephen's Episcopal was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Petersburg Catholic only served six aces.

Saint Stephen's Episcopal didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Palmetto on the 21st. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, they will face off against Bell Creek Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
