Raymond Central extends road losing streak to ten

Recap: Raymond Central Mustangs vs. Louisville Lions

The Raymond Central Mustangs fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Louisville Lions on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 55-52. Raymond Central has struggled against Louisville recently, as their game on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dawson Potter, who scored 16 points along with five assists. That's the first time this season that Potter scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Colton Dubas, who scored 14 points along with two steals and two blocks.

Even though they lost, Raymond Central were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Louisville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jase Ostblom, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wade Powles, who scored 11 points.

Raymond Central's loss was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-13. As for Louisville, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9.

Raymond Central will take on Conestoga at TBD on Tuesday. Conestoga presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Raymond Central in Nebraska (Conestoga is ranked 46th, while Raymond Central is ranked 243rd). Louisville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Yutan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Yutan is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
