Baseball Game Preview: Rock Creek Academy Lions vs. Whitefield Academy Wildcats

The Rock Creek Academy Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Whitefield Academy Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Rock Creek Academy is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Andrew Beickman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Whitefield Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Rock Creek Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rock Creek Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Whitefield Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Rock Creek Academy took their win against Whitefield Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
