Basketball Recap: Rayveon Fetz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mississinewa over Western

While it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, Mississinewa was not quite Western's equal in the second half on Saturday. They fell to the Western Panthers 49-44. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Mississinewa's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rayveon Fetz, who posted 12 points. Kiontaye Woods was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Western got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hudson Biggs out in front who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points. Another player making a difference was Christian Bangs, who went 5 for 6 en route to 13 points.

Mississinewa's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Western, their record is now 10-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mississinewa will welcome Alexandria-Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Western, they will challenge Clinton Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st.
