Basketball Game Preview: Silverado Skyhawks vs. Western Warriors

The Silverado Skyhawks will face off against the Western Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Silverado: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Western has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 55-17, which was the final score in Silverado's tilt against Sierra Vista on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Skyhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Mountain Lions are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Western's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cimarron-Memorial.

Western's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 13-7. As for Silverado, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.
