Recap: Covenant Day Lions vs. Cary Academy Chargers
The Covenant Day Lions won the last time they faced the Cary Academy Chargers, and things went their way on Friday too. Covenant Day had just enough and edged Cary Academy out 42-40. The win made it back-to-back wins for Covenant Day.
Covenant Day can attribute much of their success to Tyree White, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds. White continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Patrick Penosky was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
The victory got Covenant Day back to even at 3-3. As for Cary Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Covenant Day will head out on the road to face off against Gray Collegiate Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cary Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wesleyan Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Wesleyan Christian Academy is ranked 55th, while Cary Academy is ranked 78th).
