Basketball Recap: Calumet Christian's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Calumet Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 38-32 W against the Faith Christian Falcons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-37 back in November of 2024.

Calumet Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Makenna Landkrohn, who posted 12 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. Landkrohn is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Nora Prim was another key player, putting up six points and five steals.

Calumet Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 37 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Faith Christian still got an impressive performance from Gwen Hodson, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards Hodson has posted since back in January.

Calumet Christian's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Faith Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 34-3.

As of now, neither Calumet Christian nor Faith Christian have any future games scheduled.
