The Collinsville Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Sylvania Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Collinsville has 14 straight victories, Sylvania has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Collinsville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past University Charter 17-2 on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the season.
Sylas Adams made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Adams was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Collinsville got a massive performance out of Mason McAteer, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Bronner Jones was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Collinsville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .548 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Sylvania didn't have quite enough to beat West Blocton on Wednesday and fell 11-9.
Paul William Bryant made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Mattox, who went 1-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
Sylvania's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Collinsville, their record is now 15-1.
Sylvania's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Collinsville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. It's a different story for Sylvania, though, as they've only averaged .360. Will they be able to contain Collinsville's hitters?
Everything went Collinsville's way against Sylvania when the teams last played back in March of 2025, as Collinsville made off with a 19-4 win. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
