Smithson Valley had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Everything went their way against the Wagner Thunderbirds as they made off with a 12-1 victory. Considering the Rangers have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Smithson Valley's win bumped their record up to 22-4. As for Wagner, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-20-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Smithson Valley will challenge rival Tivy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rangers 3.8, the Antlers 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Wagner is set to face off against their familiar foe Boerne-Champion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
