Baseball Game Preview: Clinton Dragons vs. Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals

The Clinton Dragons will square off against the Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row dating back to last season, Clinton turned things around against Austin-East on Thursday. They never let the Roadrunners get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Dragons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Eagleton College & Career Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 victory over Tellico Plains on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Royals have won by just one run.

Willard King was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. He also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lane Cope, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

King wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Eagleton College & Career Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tellico Plains only managed six hits.

The win made it two in a row for Eagleton College & Career Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-1-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Clinton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
