Football Recap: Griffin Patterson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ooltewah over Soddy Daisy + How To Watch

Ooltewah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 35-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Soddy Daisy Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Owls of the 28-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Several Owls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Griffin Patterson, who picked up 97 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one rushing score. Ooltewah also got a significant boost from Jakyth Geter, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

Ooltewah's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Soddy Daisy, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-3.

Coming up, Ooltewah will face off against East Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Owls will need to watch out since the Hurricanes have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Soddy Daisy, they will square off against Bradley Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears' defense has only allowed 9.7 points per game this season, so the Trojans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
