Soccer Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

If Independence was feeling good fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Garfield on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Medina Christian Academy Knights by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Independence couldn't quite close it out.

Independence now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Medina Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Independence will welcome Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Medina Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Shaw at 5:30 p.m. Medina Christian Academy will be up against Shaw's rather soft defense (which has allowed 9.43 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
