Softball Recap: Ashe County Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ashe County can now relate to. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ledford Panthers on Tuesday. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ally Greer was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Roten, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Ashe County's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Ledford, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Ashe County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ledford, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 9-0 defeat against Rockingham County on the 9th.
