Volleyball Recap: Cumberland County Takes a Loss

If Cumberland County was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cannon County on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jets fell 3-1 to the Knoxville T Trailblazers on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Trailblazers this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-1 defeat two weeks ago.

Cumberland County started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-12, 25-15, 25-11.

Ivy Watson paced Cumberland County's offense, picking up 11 kills. Watson got some help from Laila Howard and her 17 assists.

Cumberland County's loss dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Knoxville T, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-3.

Cumberland County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Upperman on the 23rd. As for Knoxville T, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Clinton on the 22nd.
