Basketball Recap: Okemah Skates Past Meeker with Ease

Okemah won the last time they faced Meeker and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Okemah Panthers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Meeker Bulldogs 71-40. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Okemah's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Meeker, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.

Okemah will be playing in front of their home fans against Warner at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Okemah has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Meeker, they are taking a road trip to face off against Seminole at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
