Volleyball Recap: Palmyra Comes Up Short

Palmyra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elmwood-Murdock Knights. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 25-14 in the first set.

Palmyra started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-20, 25-13.

Grace Green paced Palmyra's offense, picking up ten kills. Green got some help from Audrey Erhart and her 23 assists. Kenlee Nider controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Palmyra's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Elmwood-Murdock, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Palmyra didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Southern on the 2nd. As for Elmwood-Murdock, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Mead on the 2nd.
