Soccer Recap: Freeport Comes Up Short

If Freeport was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Elmont Memorial two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Devils lost 5-1 to the Valley Stream Central Eagles on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Freeport of the 7-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2016.

Freeport's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Valley Stream Central, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Coming up, Valley Stream Central will head out to square off against Elmont Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Freeport will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' matchup: after the Eagles face off against Uniondale, they'll take on Freeport again at 10:00 a.m. on October 11.
