Football Recap: Coby Botts' Menacing Defense Leads Hulbert over Porter

Hulbert lost to Porter back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Riders strolled past the Pirates with points to spare, taking the game 32-14. Considering the Riders' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Cody Botts was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 129 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in September of 2024.

Hulbert didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Coby Botts.

Hulbert now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Porter, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Hulbert will be playing in front of their home fans against Westville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Porter, they will head out to challenge Warner at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
