Soccer Recap: Mater Dei Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mater Dei can now relate to. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Lebanon Greyhounds who were credited with the win on Tuesday. The Lebanon Greyhounds got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Mater Dei Knights' four. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Lebanon this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 two weeks ago.

Mater Dei's goal came courtesy of Edwin Oros, who's now up to nine this season.

Mater Dei's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8-3. As for Lebanon, their victory bumped their record up to 18-6.

Mater Dei does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lebanon, they will take on Father McGivney Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Father McGivney Catholic's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Lebanon's offense will have their work cut out for them.
