Volleyball Recap: Red Bud Musketeers vs. Chester Yellowjackets
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Red Bud had no problem doing just that on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Chester Yellowjackets out 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Musketeers, as the team was forced to settle for a 2-1 defeat when these two played last Thursday.
The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 26-24, 27-29, 25-15.
Red Bud's offense was headlined by
Addi Tallman and
Peyton Kreher, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from
Norah Wagner and her 17 assists.
Sofia Jones controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Despite the loss, Chester still got an impressive performance from Gianna Eggemeyer, who had 14 digs.
The win was the fifth in a row for Red Bud, bringing their record for this year to 25-11. As for Chester, their loss dropped their record down to 20-15.
Red Bud wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Columbia on the 29th. Chester does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
