Baseball Recap: Carmi-White County Takes a Loss

Carmi-White County suffered their closest loss since April 12th on Saturday. They fell just short of the DuQuoin Indians by a score of 5-3. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 18-2 to the Indians when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

This is the second loss in a row for Carmi-White County and nudges their season record down to 9-11-1. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for DuQuoin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-12.

Looking ahead, Carmi-White County will square off against Flora at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for DuQuoin, they will take on Murphysboro at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Devils will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
